Drawing accessories for your creature

Once your creature has hatched, you can draw clothes for your virtual pet the same way you drew the creature: sketch a hat, a scarf, goggles, a tiny backpack, and it gets fitted onto your creature in its own style.

Accessories are purely cosmetic. There are no stats in Inkmon, so there is nothing for them to boost. They exist because dressing up something you made is its own reward.

How it works

  1. Draw the item on paper or on the canvas — just the item, on its own.
  2. Your creature is redrawn wearing it, from the original art plus your accessory.
  3. You look at the result and accept or retry. Up to three tries.
  4. Accept, and it's part of how your creature looks from then on.

Each fitting is a ritual with a real wait, like hatching — not a menu toggle. It's the same pipeline your creature came out of.

Importantly, every fitting is composed from your creature's base art, never from the last accessory image. Chaining edits on edits is how a creature slowly stops looking like itself after five hats. It regenerates from the original every time, with the full set of what it's wearing.

Drawing one that fits well

Draw the item alone. Not on a creature, not on a head. Just the hat, centred, filling the page.

Draw it from the angle it'll be seen. Your creature faces the camera, so a hat drawn face-on sits better than one drawn from above.

Keep the shape simple and the outline closed. A wide-brimmed hat, a chunky scarf, round goggles. Silhouette does the work here even more than it does for creatures — the accessory is small on screen, and detail below a certain size just disappears.

Pick a colour that isn't your creature's colour. A grey scarf on a grey creature is a technically successful fitting that nobody can see.

One item per drawing. A hat and a scarf is two drawings, and you'll get a better result from both.

Ideas that work

Wide-brim hat · bobble hat · flower crown · tiny crown · long striped scarf · bow tie · round goggles on the forehead · a single earring · a satchel · a small backpack · a cape · a leaf held like an umbrella · a bell on a ribbon · headphones · a bandana · a party hat

Seasonal ones are the most fun: a knitted scarf in winter, a sun hat in summer, something ridiculous for a birthday.

What accessories don't do

  • No stats. There are none to affect. A crown does not slow hunger.
  • No trading. Your creature and everything it wears are yours alone. Nothing in Inkmon can be transferred to another player, ever.
  • No rarity, no gacha. You draw a thing; your creature wears the thing.

Do they survive growing up?

Yes. When your creature reaches a new growth stage, the art regenerates from your original drawing with everything it's wearing — so a Radiant creature still has the scarf you drew for it as a Hatchling, redrawn at the new size.
